Summer School Information 



English Learner Summer Program Registration 

The English Learner (EL) Summer Program Registration closed on May 5, 2017. Parents will receive an acceptance letter notifying them if their child was accepted into the EL Summer Program by May 19th. 

The purpose of this free Summer Program for ELs is to provide language instruction for English Learners with academic and language needs, who are exposed to a second language in the home or considered immigrant students. To enroll in the Summer Program for ELs, the student must be enrolled in K-6 in the fall of the 2017-2018 school year. EL students with academic and language needs who completed 6th grade in 2016-2017 may also be considered for this program based on teacher recommendation. Students who are eligible to participate in the EL program and who have academic and language needs will be given top priority. Students must live in the Madison City School zone.


El propósito del Programa gratis de Verano para los EL es proveer clases del idioma inglés a los aprendices con necesidades académicas y del lenguaje, que están expuestos a un segundo idioma en el hogar o considerados estudiantes inmigrantes. Para matricularse en el Programa de Verano para los EL, el estudiante debe estar matriculado en los grados K-6 para el otoño del año escolar 2017-2018.  Los estudiantes de EL con necesidades académicas y del lenguaje, que completaron el 6to grado en el año escolar 2016-2017 también serán considerados para este programa basado en las recomendaciones del maestro(a).  Los estudiantes que son elegibles para participar en el Programa EL y que tienen necesidades académicas y del lenguaje, tendrán prioridad.  Los estudiantes tienen que residir en la zona escolar de las Escuelas de la Ciudad de Madison. Fecha límite 5 de mayo de 2017. Los padres recibirán una carta de aceptación notificándoles si su hijo(a) fue aceptado(a) en el Programa de Verano para los EL el 19 de mayo.
